Effective January 1, 1997.","effective":"1997-01-01","html":"<p>(a) The initial payment to a member retired for service shall be issued within 45 days of either the effective date of retirement or receipt by the system of a completed application for retirement, whichever is later. The initial payment to an option beneficiary shall be issued within 45 days following receipt by the system of a completed application for death benefits and proof of death of the member. Monthly payments shall continue thereafter.
