Any individual serving as the chief administrative officer of a school district who does not hold a credential may be required by the local governing board to pursue a program of in-service training conducted pursuant to guidelines approved by the commission.</p><p>No individual serving as the chief administrative officer of a school district shall be subject to the provisions of the merit system specified in Article 6 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/edc/45240\">45240</a>) of Chapter 5 of Part 25 of this division or any other similar merit system.</p>","text":"A local governing board may waive any credential requirement for the chief administrative officer of the school district under its jurisdiction.
