Effective September 25, 1990.","effective":"1990-09-25","html":"<p>A plea or verdict of guilty or a finding of guilt by a court in a trial without a jury is deemed to be a conviction within the meaning of Sections <a href=\"/edc/87405\">87405</a> and <a href=\"/edc/88022\">88022</a> of this code, irrespective of a subsequent order under the provisions of Section <a href=\"/pen/1203.4\">1203.4</a> of the Penal Code allowing the withdrawal of the plea of guilty and entering a plea of not guilty, or setting aside the verdict of guilty, or dismissing the accusations or information. The record of the conviction of a sex offense as defined in Section <a href=\"/edc/87010\">87010</a> or of a controlled substance offense defined in Section <a href=\"/edc/87011\">87011</a> shall be sufficient proof of conviction of a crime involving moral turpitude for the purposes of Sections <a href=\"/edc/87667\">87667</a> and <a href=\"/edc/87732\">87732</a> relating to the dismissal of permanent employees.</p>","text":"A plea or verdict of guilty or a finding of guilt by a court in a trial without a jury is deemed to be a conviction within the meaning of Sections 87405 and 88022 of this code, irrespective of a subsequent order under the provisions of Section 1203.4 of the Penal Code allowing the withdrawal of the plea of guilty and entering a plea of not guilty, or setting aside the verdict of guilty, or dismissing the accusations or information.
