(AB 1430)   Effective January 1, 2012.","effective":"2012-01-01","html":"<p>(a) For the purposes of Chapter 1 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/gov/57000\">57000</a>) to Chapter 7 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/gov/57176\">57176</a>), inclusive, of Part 4 or Part 5 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/gov/57300\">57300</a>), none of the following entities is a “district” or “special district” if the commission of the principal county determines, in accordance with Sections <a href=\"/gov/56127\">56127</a> and <a href=\"/gov/56128\">56128</a>, that the entity is not a “district” or “special district”:</p><p>(1) A flood control district.</p><p>(2) A flood control and floodwater conservation district.</p><p>(3) A flood control and water conservation district.</p><p>(4) A conservation district.</p><p>(5) A water conservation district.</p><p>(6) A water replenishment district.</p><p>(7) The Orange County Water District.</p><p>(8) A California water storage district.</p><p>(9) A water agency.</p><p>(10) A county water authority or a water authority.</p><p>(b) If the commission determines that an entity described in this section is not a “district” or “special district,” any proceedings pursuant to Part 4 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/gov/57000\">57000</a>) for a change of organization involving the entity shall be conducted pursuant to the principal act authorizing the establishment of that entity.</p>","text":"(a) For the purposes of Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 57000) to Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 57176), inclusive, of Part 4 or Part 5 (commencing with Section 57300), none of the following entities is a “district” or “special district” if the commission of the principal county determines, in accordance with Sections 56127 and 56128, that the entity is not a “district” or “special district”: (1) A flood control district.
