Effective January 1, 1996.","effective":"1996-01-01","html":"<p>Upon conviction of any violation of this part, or any regulation adopted pursuant to this part, the court may require, as a condition of probation under Section <a href=\"/pen/1203.1\">1203.1</a> of the Penal Code, that the defendant pay to the department the reasonable costs incurred by the department in investigating and prosecuting the action, including, but not limited to, the costs of storage and testing.
