Effective January 1, 2001.","effective":"2001-01-01","html":"<p>(a) (1) No person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, political subdivision of the state, or other governmental agency within the state shall continue to operate, conduct, or maintain an existing health facility without having applied for and obtained a license or a special permit as provided for in this chapter. </p><p>(2) This subdivision shall not apply to a receiver appointed by the court to temporarily operate a long-term health care facility pursuant to Article 8 (commencing with Section <a href=\"/hsc/1325\">1325</a>). </p><p>(b) Any license or special permit revoked pursuant to this chapter may be reinstated pursuant to Section <a href=\"/gov/11522\">11522</a> of the Government Code. </p>","text":"(a) (1) No person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, political subdivision of the state, or other governmental agency within the state shall continue to operate, conduct, or maintain an existing health facility without having applied for and obtained a license or a special permit as provided for in this chapter.
