Section operative July 1, 1999, pursuant to Section 23675.","effective":"1999-01-01","html":"<p>In lieu of the alcohol or drug education program prescribed by Section <a href=\"/veh/23538\">23538</a>, <a href=\"/veh/23542\">23542</a>, <a href=\"/veh/23548\">23548</a>, <a href=\"/veh/23552\">23552</a>, <a href=\"/veh/23556\">23556</a>, <a href=\"/veh/23562\">23562</a>, or <a href=\"/veh/23568\">23568</a>, a court may impose, as a condition of probation, that the person complete, subsequent to the underlying conviction, a program specified in Section <a href=\"/pen/8001\">8001</a> of the Penal Code, if the person consents and has been accepted into that program.
