Education Code § 10609
CHAPTER 7. California Education Information System
The department may accept federal or other funds for the purpose of financing activities pursuant to this article. School districts and county offices of education may assign to the department funds or other resources which may be identified in their budgets for planning, developing, or coordinating activities related to this article.
